INTRODUCING> Yunalis Zarai

Yuna ( Yunalis Zarai ) started out writing poetries when she was 14 and was able to write songs when she was 19 years old, when her friend taught her how to play simple chords on the guitar. She took piano lessons when she was 7 and quit when she was 14 years old. Most of her songs are in English, but she tries to write more Malay songs.

Her music is a mixture of what she grew up with, the people around her and the music that they play. So there's a lot of folk rock, acoustic, and alternative elements to them when you listen to it. She grew up listening to The Cardigans, Fiona Apple, No Doubt, Garbage, Alanis Morrissette, Sheryl Crow, Tori Amos, Silverchair and other bands that made music primarily in the 90's.

She befriended Farhan Fadzlishah when she added her songs on Myspace music and he was the first few people who e-mailed her regarding interests in the music. Along the way Efry Arwis helped out by playing the bass for her and Adib played the drums. Adib quit later on to concentrate on his drummings for 'Oh Chentaku', and was replaced by Adil Ali. Whenever Yuna is not involved in acoustic gigs, she performs with her band most of the time.
